The Lapwing Shepherd Hut, one of only four luxurious retreats on our working farm (New Sheepfold), awaits. Inside, you’ll find all the comforts of home and more – fluffy towels, luxurious robes, and slippers to sink into. A carefully curated welcome hamper filled with local treats greets you. But the real magic lies outside: your own private hot tub, just steps from your door. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow across the rolling hills, you sink into the warm water, a glass of bubbly in hand. This is the perfect romantic escape, a chance to reconnect with nature and each other.   We had a gorgeous weekend at Lapwing! The shepherd hut was perfect for a peaceful trip away. The welcome basket was a great touch and I really appreciated the banners that were put up for my partners birthday. We loved the vending machine on the farm and we then used the bbq to cook the delicious food we purchased! Would definitely recommend and we’d love to visit again :)

  We had the most amazing stay at Lapwing. Everything was beautiful about it, it was homely and welcoming and felt like ‘ours’ for the weekend. We were lucky enough to have a clear night, seeing the Milky Way from the hot tub was an experience that both of us were amazed by and think will be hard to top! We visited the vending machine and had beautiful local food, the welcome basket for my partners birthday was the cherry on top. We couldn’t be happier with our home away from home for the weekend and were sad to leave it behind. Thank you both so much for making it such a special weekend!

  We visited for our wedding anniversary, it was stunning! We were welcomed with a gorgeous hamper which made our stay extra special. The cabin was beautiful, very comfortable and had everything we needed, we especially loved the binoculars and star gazing guide. Absolutely perfect for a peaceful romantic break, we will definitely visit again.

  Such a beautiful weekend getaway. We didnt want to leave!! The hut was in such a perfect location, the bed was unbelievably comfortable 😍, the hottub was amazing and Mark and Louise were so helpful. The little touches such as the hamper were just amazing.   Had out 1 year anniversary here they had a hamper waiting with snacks and Prosecco Along with the decorations and the customised cupcakes we had arranged It was such a peaceful location and the cabin had everything you would need will definitely be returning .

  Had a wonderful weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. The host went to the trouble of putting up an anniversay banner along with a basket of treat- which was a very thoughtful welcome !! Location peaceful with plenty of animals and nature around.Shepherds hut had everything you need. Even better than in the photos.Hot Tub was clean hot and very private..very welcomed after long walks.Weber Bbq great and easy to use ..allowed more time outside.Hosts very friendly and quick to te respond to any questions.Make sure you visit the Farm vending shop - great idea with lots of goodies.Will certainly be returning

  The instructions for check in were very clear, the hut felt very private and the hot tub was beautiful. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too! Would definitely recommend.

  Great location, great views, great hosts, great accommodation. Everything was great. The hamper was a lovely touch. Brilliant dark skies for star gazing and some of the most impressive shooting stars I have ever seen. Saw a barn owl in the morning. Would definitely go again.

  Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cabane de berger de Mark. C'était parfait pour se relaxer après nos expéditions dans les Moors, avec un petit jacuzzi à la belle étoile puis dans ce lit si confortable. Nous avons aussi beaucoup apprécié le barbecue. Je recommande !

  We’ve just got back from a few days staying in the shepherd’s hut named "Hare".The location is brilliant, so quiet and peaceful. The wildlife is amazing; we saw barn owls, rabbits and even a small mole. We also took a couple of day trips out to Saltburn and Yarn, which we really enjoyed.First impressions when we arrived were fantastic. It was lovely and clean, and so much thought has gone into the layout and facilities. We were also greeted with a lovely surprise hamper and some bunting to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which was a really nice touch, huge thanks to Mark and Louise for that!The farm shop is great as well, really well stocked and reasonably priced. Plus, there are some wonderful walks right on the doorstep. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, we will definitely be looking to return.

  We chose here for our mini honeymoon getaway and wow what an incredible place! We arrived to a gorgeous little surprise (some just married bunting) that just made it feel all the more special. The amenities were great and everything was easy to find. Listening to the cows and sheep sat on the decking was oddly peaceful, and the neighbouring huts are far enough away that it feels like nobody else is there. Stunning venue, amazing hosts! We’d definitely book again!

We have a luxury hot tub available for the duration of your stay. We provide robes, slippers and towels for your use.

Double Bed

We have comfortable pillows and duvets. There is a small cupboard under the bed for clothing.

Log Burner

There is a log burner to cosy up next too on cool evenings. We provide the sticks and logs

We have a parking space available for you behind the hut.

Cooking Facilities

There is a combi-oven (No hob), as well as a travel kettle internally, outside there is a gas BBQ.

Bathroom

We have a shower, and provide towels for each guest. There is a hair dryer.

Safety

The hut is fitted with CO detectors, smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

Check-in is at 3pm and Checkout at 10am
